Pakayak is a high performance hard-shell kayak that happens to come apart and pack down to 3.5 feet. And, it'll change the world. Go where you want, store it where you want, carry it on your back, take it in your convertible and paddle it just like a traditional hard-shell kayak.

More Good News!

Dear Backers and Friends,
The picture is starting to come into focus now! Everything is underway and progressing nicely. While working hard to perfect our product, we are building strong friendships with our vendors, too - a nice side effect that helps everything run smoother. That’s important to us!
Very exciting to see a Pakayak section come off the mold using the new, more advanced plastic! Whooot Whooot! Looking so beautiful in color SURF!
Seat back and cockpit pad - We received a second set of prototypes which are better. There are a few minor tweaks to be made.
Mac Daddy Bag - Received the 1st prototype on our new design and we are pleased with the results. Being perfectionists at heart means we need to make some modifications. But, here it is! Not the best photo but at least you can see the overall form. The Pakayak is now completely enclosed which will help to protect its surface.
We are in process of placing orders to start the manufacturing of the Kickstarter Pakayaks!
We have made a soft kick-off of our new campaign “Calling All _____!” on social media. This will be ramping-up quickly in the next few weeks and we are asking all of you to help us spread the word. Please share Facebook posts, Tweets and Instagram posts with your friends, it only takes a second and will help us immensely.
Stay tuned for more updates and photos!
As always, we remain, gratefully yours,
Team Pakayak (Doug, Zinelle, Day and Phil)
Starting the New Year off Right!

Happy New Year!
2017 is going to be a huge year for Pakayak and we owe much of that to you dear Backers!
Without further ado we have More GOOD News to share with you.
We received the seat prototype and, with just a few changes, we have approved it and started the tooling. Bonus Points - It fits into the nested carry bag better than our previous model (see photos below).
The Mac Daddy bag, seat back and cockpit pad (which covers the clamps and connection area) are still on schedule for prototyping and to begin tooling and manufacturing.
We are ordering our four custom-blended colors of plastic in the next few days so we can start production of the Pakayaks! Woot!
Our manufacturer made a first run of our molds. After the first test run, they opted to make a few “tweeks” to the molds which are aimed at producing a better part more efficiently. They have just begun the 2nd test run after the “tweeks”. Double Woot!
As always, we remain, gratefully yours, Team Pakayak (Doug, Zinelle, Day and Phil)

We wanted to take a minute from this busy holiday season to thank our generous backers for all the love, support and suggestions that they have provided us with over the past six-ish months.
Things are moving along very well and we'll be posting an exciting update just after the first of the year with all kinds of good news!
We also want to share the LOVE with our fellow Kickstarter entrepreneurs who have supported, shared and collaborated with us.
Big Shout Out to PakPod! An amazing, high quality product. And heck, it's a perfect companion for our Pakayak. A stake-able, packable, rigg-able, waterproof, all-terrain tripod. Check out what it can do! BTW, PakPod is running a Holiday special right now so go check out their website for more details (use code RIPPLE20) .
WE LOVE THIS!!!!
AND
Sustainable Sunglass are important why? Because thousand and thousands of cheap plastic sunglasses are discarded every year, and we all know that plastic is a huge problem for our oceans and waterways. Loud Eyewear solves this problem AND makes (finally) eco-friendly sunglasses with serious attitude and, hold on...Most of their styles float! Pictured here style: Panama
Many, many thanks to all of you! Have a safe and peaceful holiday season!
We remain, gratefully yours,
Team Pakayak (Doug, Zinelle, Day and Phil)
Samples and prototypes have arrived

It was just like Christmas! We returned from a short trip to find all kinds of things had been delivered: foot brace prototype, cockpit cover prototype, seat back prototype, samples of bag material and a sample of the texture design for the foam seat. What fun!
Here are some pictures:
Foot brace prototype: fits and works perfectly, needs no adjustments. YAY!
Cockpit cover: Needs adjustments! Bungies will be thinner, threaded through rivets (not sewn) and will be black, not white.
Seat back: Needs slight adjustments to thickness of pad and to webbing.
Seat texture sample - Sort of reptilian - Cool!
More to come...
We remain, gratefully yours,
Team Pakayak
