Pakayak is a high performance hard-shell kayak that happens to come apart and pack down to 3.5 feet. And, it'll change the world. Go where you want, store it where you want, carry it on your back, take it in your convertible and paddle it just like a traditional hard-shell kayak.

Dear Backers,
We were scheduled to be at Gregstrom today, but they have asked that we delay one day to give them a chance to make more parts to use while working through the assembly process.
We are still on track to be in production and receive and test the first boats this week.
Shipping Color Order
Once we have tested the production boats, we will give the OK to start shipping. Here's the order:
Surf Habañero Chili Sunshine
Finalize Shipping Addresses
With the start of production for each color, we will be sending a notice through BackerKit asking you to double check and finalize your shipping address. If you are receiving a Surf boat, you'll receive your notice first.
We'll post again soon!
As always, we remain, gratefully yours,
Team Pakayak (Doug, Zinelle, Day and Phil)

Dear Backers,
Yup, we're still on track...
The first image below shows one of the tools we created to standardize the clamp cutout process. Nice results! Gregstrom is getting precise and consistent cutouts on every part. And, check out the Surf boat!

clamp fits perfectly, every time

And, look at that hull!
We will be at Gregstrom on Tuesday of next week to go through the assembly process with them (adding rigging, foot pegs, gaskets, etc.) and to test the boats. If all goes well, we'll start shipping late next week.
We'll send another update early next week.
As always, we remain, gratefully yours,

Dear Backers,
Just a quick update to say things are going as planned, finally.
Our new manufacturer, Gregstrom, has finished the mold framing modifications, is running sample plastic through each of the molds, and is mastering the cooling and trimming process. The fixtures for the clamp cutouts were designed last week, produced this week, and were delivered yesterday so Gregstrom will be testing those this coming week as well as setting up the assembly stations.
We should have boats to test next week and if all is good, we'll be in full production, like we said, the week of February 19. That means we start shipping that week, too!
Ahhh, we all can't wait for that!
We again apologize for the delays and as always, thank you for your patience.
As always, we remain, gratefully yours, Team Pakayak (Doug, Zinelle, Day and Phil)

Dear Backers,
Unfortunately, our manufacturer has not been progressing fast enough for us on the remaking of the clamp trim fixtures. In order to speed up the process, we have had to take it into our own hands to resolve this issue. We expect to have a solution that will get us back in production and we will be posting a promising update in the next two weeks.
