Pakayak is a high performance hard-shell kayak that happens to come apart and pack down to 3.5 feet. And, it'll change the world. Go where you want, store it where you want, carry it on your back, take it in your convertible and paddle it just like a traditional hard-shell kayak.

We have put together a Read This First page on our site. Please check it out for important information and helpful hints.
What fit's in the bag?
Below are photos showing the four-piece paddle inside the bag, as well as a PFD. You will also see how to slip a two-piece paddle in the loops to carry it on the outside of the bag.
Buying a Paddle
We have had questions about paddles. Since there are many factors you need to consider when buying a paddle, here’s an article to help you decide which paddle is best for you.
Until later...

Dearest Backers,
We have been waiting for this part of our story to happen, dreaming of the day when we would see our Pakayaks coming off the production line and shipping out the door. There have been many sleepless nights, scores of bitten down nails, and much sweat and hard work and now that day is here — we could not be more pleased.
The entire team has been working side-by-side with our manufacturer to pitch in where needed and help to maximize production. We’d like to take a moment and thank all the lovely people at Gregstrom. They have welcomed us with open arms and have treated us like family. We are very grateful for this and for their absolute dedication and attention to detail on every boat. We will continue to work with them until everything is running as smoothly as can be and they have achieved peek production.
We expect to have all backer boats shipped by the end of April.
We thought you might be interested to see a bit of the process and the gleaming, sleek results.
As always, we remain, gratefully yours,
Team Pakayak (Doug, Zinelle, Day and Phil)

Shipping, Tracking and Receiving Your Pakayak

Dear Backers,
We have quite a bit of information to share with you so please read this entire update.
First, let us address some of the comments that have been posted.
Color order and why it changed. Everything changed when we changed manufacturers. One change is the color order. The old manufacturer dictated the color order to us due to their process. The new manufacturer said its up to us and - thinking of you, our backers - figured we would go by quantity per color, Surf being the most, since there’s a little downtime in between colors. That way we’d get the most boats out before switching colors. We had no idea you would be upset with this change and were trying to do the best for you.
Delivery Order. Obviously, we cannot ship everyone’s Pakayak all at once. We are shipping our Super Early Adopters first, once we are producing that color. Please don’t forget that there are many backers that did not get a Pakayak so the backer number doesn’t correlate to shipping order.
Production & Delivery Speed. We have a great team at Gregstrom and they are making sure everything looks and functions beautifully. Yes, things have been slow but they are trying to make things perfect. It’s never easy to give anything but good news but we think we have been pretty upfront about our trials and delays. To date, we have shipped less than 30 boats. Yes, that’s way behind what we thought but they are ramping up in shifts and in staff to accommodate our orders. Once at full speed, we should be able to ship about 80 a week. We are hoping to be close to that next week and we’ll give you more info as we go along, as we always do. Please do not despair - we will get your boats to you as soon as we possibly can!
Now on to other things…
Check Your Address
As we did with Surf, we'll be sending a notification through BackerKit to check and finalize your address prior to the next color going out. Please make sure your shipping address is correct. Please Note: We cannot ship your Pakayak to a PO Box or to an APO Box.
Tracking Your Package
Once your boat ships, you will receive an email with your tracking number. UPS has a tool that might make it easier to manage your shipment. It’s called UPS My Choice and it provides updates on your package along it’s way including when it’s delivered. To get up to date tracking information directly from UPS, sign up for UPS My Choice.
Receiving Your Bluefin 14
When you get your package, the easiest way to get your Pakayak out is to open the top, lay the box down on its side, handle side down and pull the bag out. Then, just wheel it away, like this:
Next, unzip the bag and read the 'Read This First' sheet. It provides you with some important information. And, don't forget to register your Bluefin 14.
Please visit our Pak members page for instructional videos, the owner's manual and much more.
Ongoing Communication
Because you have traveled this far with us, we have special things planned for you so we want to keep in touch. Soon, we will send you an email confirming your contact information with us. The email will be sent to the one that you entered in Kickstarter or updated in BackerKit, but if you would prefer to change that for ongoing communications, you can do so using the link that we will provide in the email.
Thank you!
As always, we remain, gratefully yours,
Team Pakayak (Doug, Zinelle, Day and Phil)
